Laem Chabang cruise port to Pattaya: planning a day ashore

Many cruise ships calling on Thailand's east coast berth at Laem Chabang Port, north of Pattaya. At the A1 cruise terminal, run by NYK Auto Logistics, a taxi counter in the ground-floor lobby is operated by BR Transport, and a private car that collects you pays a pick-up fee at Gate 2. Book your ride back around your ship's all-aboard time, not its departure time.

First, check your berth and all-aboard time

The A1 terminal publishes its own list of cruise calls, with each ship's arrival and departure time, berth and status. On 22 October 2026 it listed calls from late October into November, all at berth A1, among them one call marked cancelled. If your ship is not on that list, it may use another berth: ask the cruise line where you will step ashore.

The departure time on the port's list is not the time to be back. Your cruise line sets an all-aboard time, usually earlier; find it in the ship's daily programme and plan the whole day backwards from it.

Leaving the A1 terminal

  • Taxi: the terminal's taxi counter is in the lobby on the ground floor, near the exit, operated by BR Transport (+66 81 859 6596). Agree the destination, the waiting time and the total before you get in, or book a return trip with the same driver.
  • A car you booked: a private car dropping passengers off pays nothing at Gate 2, the port's Security Department; a car collecting passengers pays a fee there. The terminal does not publish the amount; ask your driver whether the quote includes it.
  • A transfer company: give it your ship's name, the date and the berth, since the meeting point depends on the terminal.

The terminal publishes no public bus or songthaew from the port to Pattaya, and no fixed taxi fare. Ride-hailing apps work only if you have mobile data from the moment you land: see eSIMs and staying connected.

Planning the day in Pattaya

Keep it simple: one area and one or two sights, with the car booked back. The 24-hour plan shows what fits into a short visit, and things to do lists the sights by kind.

  • Time back: work back from all aboard, and leave a large margin for traffic.
  • Cash: carry baht for small purchases and tips: see ATM fees and cash.
  • The heat: plan the outdoor part for the morning, and take water and a hat.

Questions

Is there a taxi at Laem Chabang cruise terminal?

At the A1 terminal, yes: a taxi counter in the ground-floor lobby near the exit, operated by BR Transport (+66 81 859 6596), the terminal's own site said on 22 October 2026. It publishes no fare, so agree the total first.

Can a driver collect me at the port?

Yes. At the A1 terminal a private car pays a pick-up fee at Gate 2, the port's Security Department; dropping off is free. Ask your driver whether the quote includes the fee.

How do I get back to the ship on time?

Book the return car before you leave the port, and set the pick-up from your ship's all-aboard time, not from the departure time on the port's list. Keep the driver's number and the terminal's name with you.
