Who controls your data

Data handling by feature

Essential delivery and security

Pattaya Insider is a static site with no user accounts or login. Cloudflare Pages processes ordinary network request data—such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, and browser information—to deliver the site, maintain security, and mitigate abuse. TimPaemi does not use that traffic data to build advertising profiles. Cloudflare acts under its privacy policy. The basis for this processing is operating and securing the service and our legitimate interests in doing so.

Your saved trip

When you choose Save to your trip, this browser stores the page title, site path and type locally. Your list stays on this device until you remove it, clear the list or clear this site’s browser data. We do not upload or sync it to an account. Copy, share and print happen only when you choose those actions. Saving requires browser storage. If storage is blocked or full, the change is not saved and an error explains why. Clearing site data deletes the list; private browsing may clear it when closed.

Interactive maps

Google Maps is blocked by default. A map connects to Google only after you press Load Google map; direct Google Maps and OpenStreetMap links are also available. Once loaded, Google receives request information such as your IP address, browser details, and the location being viewed, and may use cookies or account information under Google's privacy policy. Pattaya Insider suppresses the page referrer on that request. The map choice applies only to the map you load and is not stored by Pattaya Insider.

The explore map uses locally hosted Leaflet software and connects to OpenStreetMap only after you choose Load interactive map. OpenStreetMap then receives ordinary request information including your IP address, browser details, our site's origin as the referrer, and the map tile areas requested. Search terms and saved-trip data are not sent. Browser caching follows the tile server's response headers. No location permission is requested, and this loading choice is not stored. Closing the map stops further tile requests from that map. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy. Area and place links work without loading either map provider.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics 4 is configured in basic consent mode with Enhanced Measurement disabled. Google's tag and measurement requests remain blocked until you choose Allow analytics; declining sends nothing to Google Analytics. After opt-in, we send one page view using the canonical page URL without its query string or fragment, the referring site's origin without its path or query, the page title, session and interaction data, and coarse browser, device-category and country or region information. Typed on-site search terms are not sent. Like any HTTPS connection, the request exposes your IP address to Google; Google states that GA4 uses it at collection time for routing and location derivation, then discards it before Analytics data is logged.

Google Analytics uses first-party _ga cookies to distinguish consented visitors and sessions. Pattaya Insider limits those cookies to 180 days, disables Google Signals, advertising personalization, user IDs, user-provided data and granular city/device collection, and does not link this measurement to Google Ads. The property retains user- and event-level data for two months without extending retention when a visitor returns; Google's standard aggregated reports may remain available beyond that period. Your consent choice is stored only in your browser for 180 days, after which we ask again. Use the persistent Privacy settings button to withdraw or change your choice. Withdrawal is applied to other open tabs, blocks future analytics and removes accessible Analytics cookies from this site; it cannot undo measurements already sent with consent.

Enquiries and newsletters

No newsletter or lead form is currently active, and Pattaya Insider maintains no newsletter database. If a form is enabled, it will name the external processor before submission and link back to this policy. Do not email passports, payment details, health data, or other sensitive information unless a secure channel has been agreed first.

What we never do

We do not sell or rent personal data, build advertising profiles, run retargeting pixels, fingerprint visitors, or load optional analytics before consent.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links, mainly hotel-booking links, are affiliate links. If you book through one, TimPaemi may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. No affiliate partner request is made merely by viewing our page. When you follow a link, the destination receives the usual request information and may set cookies under its own policy.

Storage, recipients, and international transfers

The consent preference is stored in your browser, not in a TimPaemi database. Essential hosting data is handled by Cloudflare. After analytics consent, Google receives the limited measurement data described above; a map choice separately sends request data to Google or OpenStreetMap only when you load that map. Any future form will identify its processor before submission. These providers may process data outside Thailand or your home country using the safeguards described in their policies and applicable contracts.

Security and retention

We minimise collection, use HTTPS, restrict browser capabilities and third-party connections with security headers, and do not publish access credentials in the site. Retention depends on the feature: the local consent choice and Analytics cookies are limited to 180 days; Google Analytics user- and event-level retention is two months without activity reset; inactive forms retain nothing for us; provider-side security logs follow the provider's disclosed schedule. Information you deliberately submit is kept only for the request, legal recordkeeping, dispute prevention, and then deletion or anonymisation.

Your rights — GDPR (EU/UK) and PDPA (Thailand)

Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may have rights to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent, as well as the right to complain to a competent data-protection authority. Email info@pattaya-insider.com. We may need proportionate information to verify the requester and will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Children

This general travel guide is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent us personal data can contact us for deletion.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected on this page and in the date above. We will request consent again when a change requires a new choice.
