In this guide
Start with two decisions: which airport you land at, and which Pattaya terminal leaves the simplest journey to your hotel. This guide covers Suvarnabhumi (BKK). For other airports use Don Mueang to Pattaya or U-Tapao to Pattaya.
The RRC fares and departures below were checked against its two route pages on 7 September 2026. Other booking options need a current quote; an old sedan or minivan price is not a fare promise.
The quick comparison
| Option | Fare or quote | Arrival point / trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| RRC to North Pattaya | ฿130 per seat, checked 7 Sep 2026 | North Pattaya bus station; add your hotel connection |
| RRC to Jomtien | ฿151 per seat, checked 7 Sep 2026 | Jomtien terminal, except the final 22:00 airport departure |
| Bus plus hotel transfer | Check the operator for your date | Confirm the hotel is covered and any onward van wait |
| App ride or official taxi | Live quote and applicable charges | Direct to the hotel; confirm pickup and luggage capacity |
| Pre-booked private transfer | Written quote for the whole vehicle | Check flight delays, child seats, tolls and waiting terms |
RRC gives approximately two hours for the coach journey, depending on traffic. That excludes immigration, baggage, waiting for departure and travel from the terminal to the hotel. For groups, compare the complete coach-plus-local-transfer cost with the whole-car quote rather than assuming either is cheaper.
Step by step: landing at Suvarnabhumi
Clear immigration, collect your bags and then choose a service you can actually reach. RRC identifies level 1, gate 8 as its boarding location and asks passengers to arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. Leave additional time to find the counter and resolve a ticket or luggage question. Do not book a coach from the aircraft landing time alone.
For a booked car, follow the meeting instructions in your confirmation. For an app ride, follow that app’s current pickup directions; different providers need not share the same zone. Use airport signs for the official taxi rank. The connectivity guide helps with data access before you depend on an app or digital confirmation.
Save your hotel name, address and entrance pin offline. The important address is the entrance where you can unload, not merely a map label for the neighbourhood.
The airport bus: choose your terminal
The useful comparison is which RRC terminal matches your stay. North Pattaya station connects with the city from North Pattaya Road near Sukhumvit. The Jomtien route continues toward the southern accommodation area. Neither fare includes a private ride to your room.
| Airport route | Published departures | Published fare |
|---|---|---|
| North Pattaya | 07:30, 09:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30, 17:30, 18:30 | ฿130 per seat |
| Jomtien | Hourly, 06:00–22:00 | ฿151 per seat |
The 22:00 Jomtien-route coach does not reach Jomtien. RRC says it ends at Pattaya bus station. If your hotel is in Jomtien, plan and price that final transfer before relying on this departure. The operator currently describes its Jomtien terminal on Jomtien Second Road; use the booking confirmation and operator map to settle the exact pickup or drop-off pin rather than an older street description.
These are the operator’s published schedules checked on 7 September 2026, not seat-availability guarantees. Check the booking page for your date and luggage allowance. For the local leg, read how songthaews work and distinguish a shared route from a private charter.
Bell Travel’s bus-plus-hotel-transfer option is worth checking when terminal connections are inconvenient. Confirm coverage for the exact hotel, the full price and departure time directly; this guide has not rechecked a September fare for that service.
Taxi from the airport: confirm the complete quote
Use the official airport taxi process or a provider you have booked. Before setting off, establish how the fare is calculated and whether motorway tolls, airport charges and any waiting are included. An advertised starting price elsewhere is not the price of your particular trip.
Keep the destination and payment terms available on your phone. If an offer is unclear, resolve it at the counter before boarding. The avoiding scams guide covers common situations to check without assuming that every unsolicited price is the same.
Grab and Bolt: the app option
Check the live app for service availability, vehicle size, pickup point and total quote. Demand and waiting time can change the comparison while you collect luggage, so do not rely on a fixed price band or assume one app is always cheaper.
For a group, confirm that both people and bags fit the selected class. Retain the booking in the app and follow the assigned pickup instructions. If a quote excludes a charge, understand when and how that charge is paid before accepting.
Pre-booked private transfer: agree the arrival plan
A pre-booked car can simplify a late arrival or a trip with children and bulky luggage. Ask for written confirmation of vehicle capacity, meeting point, flight monitoring, included waiting, motorway tolls, cancellation terms and any child-seat request.
Do not infer unlimited delay coverage or 24-hour availability from the words “airport transfer.” If the flight changes, follow the provider’s instructions. The useful benefit is an agreed plan; it is not a guarantee that immigration, pickup or the road will be quick.
Minivans: verify the service before booking
A minivan listing needs an identifiable operator, current departure, luggage policy and exact meeting point before it becomes a workable arrival plan. This review did not establish a current walk-up shared-minivan service or fare at Suvarnabhumi, so no guaranteed option or price is offered here.
If a booking platform lists one for your date, inspect what is included and compare its actual drop-off with the two published RRC terminals. A low seat price is less useful if it requires an extra transfer or cannot carry your bags.
The Ekkamai alternative (from Bangkok city)
If you are already staying in Bangkok, compare departures from Ekkamai or another city terminal using the Bangkok to Pattaya by bus guide. Check the operator’s timetable for the chosen day rather than carrying an old fare into a new booking.
For a direct airport arrival, a city-terminal detour adds another connection. Compare the full journey with the next airport coach before making that detour; a short wait at BKK may be simpler than crossing Bangkok.
What about the train?
A rail journey from Bangkok is a separate plan, not the RRC airport transfer described here. Check the current State Railway timetable and the station connection before choosing rail. The cited Eastern Economic Corridor document concerns a planned high-speed project; a target year is not evidence of an operating airport-to-Pattaya train.
For an arrival-day decision, use transport that has a confirmed service for your date. Do not build a connection around a project announcement.
Arriving at night: a realistic plan
A flight landing before 22:00 can still miss the last coach. Immigration, baggage and the operator’s 15-minute boarding margin must fit before departure. If the 22:00 RRC service does work, remember it finishes at Pattaya station even though it appears on the Jomtien timetable.
Have a backup before you travel: a car provider that confirms your late arrival, an available app ride or the airport’s official taxi process. Confirm total charges and pickup instructions. Do not assume a clear road or promise yourself a 90-minute hotel arrival.
Tell the hotel when you expect to arrive and confirm late check-in. Keep its contact details accessible if your flight slips. The getting around guide covers local onward travel, while the trip cost guide helps budget a contingency.
Which should you pick?
- Published seat fare and a manageable hotel connection: compare the two RRC terminals and the next available departure.
- Group or bulky luggage: compare a whole-car quote with all bus tickets and the local transfer.
- Late flight or specific access needs: confirm a suitable booked vehicle and a backup arrangement.
Before paying, check airport, departure date, terminal, hotel entrance, bags, total cost and cancellation terms. These details determine the workable option more reliably than a universal “best” label.
Frequently asked questions
Which bus costs less? RRC lists ฿130 to North Pattaya and ฿151 on its Jomtien route. The hotel connection can change the total, so this is not a claim about the cheapest door-to-door journey.
Does the last Jomtien bus go to Jomtien? No. The operator says the 22:00 airport departure ends at Pattaya bus station. Other departures on that timetable serve Jomtien; confirm the service when booking.
How long should I allow? RRC lists approximately two hours on the road, traffic-dependent. Add airport formalities, the wait for the coach and the terminal-to-hotel journey. Other airports require a separate plan: see the Don Mueang guide.
How much is a taxi at night? Obtain a live or written quote for the complete trip. This September revision does not certify the older private-car prices in our historical sources.
RRC route facts checked 7 September 2026. Older source dates remain visible for material not rechecked; confirm prices, schedules and availability when booking.
Useful to know
- Choose the Jomtien coach for accommodation south of Pratumnak; choose the North Pattaya coach for Central, Naklua and the northern beach road.
- The final 22:00 Jomtien-route coach terminates at the Pattaya bus station rather than continuing to Jomtien.
- RRC asks passengers to reach the boarding point at least 15 minutes before departure. Flight arrival time is not your bus boarding time.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest way from Bangkok airport to Pattaya?
The two RRC airport routes list ฿130 per seat to North Pattaya and ฿151 to Jomtien, checked 7 September 2026. Both board at level 1, gate 8. Compare the hotel connection as well as the ticket: this is not a comparison of every operator or a guarantee of the lowest total price.
What is the fastest way from Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya?
A direct car avoids the coach timetable and terminal-to-hotel transfer, but the total depends on pickup waiting time and traffic. Compare a live app or provider quote with the next coach departure. No fixed door-to-door journey time is guaranteed.
How long does Bangkok airport to Pattaya take?
Allow roughly two hours on the direct airport coach, then add time for the local ride from North Pattaya or Jomtien terminal. A private car can be quicker when roads are clear but is traffic-dependent. From Don Mueang, the cross-city position makes the overall journey materially longer than the same trip from Suvarnabhumi.
How much is a taxi from Bangkok airport to Pattaya at night?
Request a quote for your flight, destination, vehicle and luggage. Confirm tolls, waiting time, late-arrival charges and cancellation terms. The last listed RRC airport departure is 22:00 and goes to Pattaya station rather than Jomtien; a late landing may miss boarding altogether.
