Bangkok is Thailand’s transport hub, so getting there is easy from anywhere.
Airports
Bangkok has two: Suvarnabhumi (BKK) for most international and full-service flights, and Don Muang (DMK) for budget airlines. Both connect to the city by taxi, the Airport Rail Link (Suvarnabhumi) and buses.
From Pattaya
Frequent buses and minivans run to Bangkok’s Ekkamai and Mo Chit terminals in about two hours; a private car or transfer is faster and door-to-door.
Getting around
The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway are fast, cheap and beat the traffic. Grab (ride-hailing), metered taxis, river boats and canal boats fill the gaps. Avoid relying on tuk-tuks for long trips.
