Rayong is an eastern-coast province with two different travel jobs: a mainland food and beach stop, and the departure area for Koh Samet. Ban Phe and Koh Samet

Ban Phe is the practical focus when Koh Samet is the goal. The Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization describes Phe pier as a gateway connecting visitors to the island, while the local Phe administration also identifies Koh Samet piers within the subdistrict. The source set therefore supports a pier-specific booking habit: confirm the exact terminal, departure time, vehicle arrangements and return ticket rather than assuming every boat uses the same dock.

Koh Samet itself is a separate island itinerary. TAT names Hat Sai Kaew for a more active beach atmosphere and Hat Praow for a quieter option. Keep the mainland plan flexible if sea conditions or pier queues change the timing. Rayong suits travellers who want seafood, a local coast and a clear route toward Koh Samet. It is less suitable for anyone expecting one compact resort centre or an automatically guaranteed same-day island schedule.
