On this page

Rimpa Lapin remains a closed archive, not a current restaurant destination. The stored July/August 2026 evidence records Google permanent closure and a Tripadvisor visitor report of autumn 2025 closure and demolition.

Closure status

The retained closure evidence includes a February 2026 Tripadvisor report says Rimpa Lapin closed in autumn 2025 and that the former restaurant was demolished. That supersedes the legacy operator’s historical timetable and the Thai directory hours.

The August source record preserves legacy operator 12:00-21:00 service information, while Thai2Night lists weekday 16:00-00:00 and weekend 14:00-00:00. A 2025 Thai feature gives a different 13:00-21:00 pattern and describes indoor and outdoor seating with parking. Those older hours conflict with the stored Tripadvisor closure and demolition report, so all three are archived identity evidence rather than proof that the Na Jomtien site is open. The Thai Ryoii record preserves the former address 152/2 Moo 3, Soi Na Jomtien 36, phones 038 235 515 and 084 451 5686, and a weekday 17:00-00:00 / weekend 16:00-00:00 timetable. Those details explain why old menu and booking pages can look usable, but the stored exact-name closure and demolition evidence overrides the historical phone and hours; neither is a live booking route.

The earlier page recorded a 24 July 2026 status check; its retained source-access dates are 1 August 2026. Those historical dates are not a new September verification. The former phone, Facebook page, menus, hours and review scores are historical only and have been removed from the live-style page fields.

What the restaurant was

Rimpa Lapin was a well-known cliffside restaurant at 152/2 Soi Na Jomtien 36. It was associated with Thai food, seafood, outdoor terraces, sea views and sunset dining.

What replaced it

The former site was reported demolished. The Thai sources preserve the former phone 038 235 515 and exact Soi Na Jomtien 36 address, but no verified successor operation there and no relocation under the Rimpa Lapin identity were found.

The closure evidence supports the former cliffside address at 152/2 Soi Na Jomtien 36, not a current sunset-dining recommendation.

Source boundary

The stored Google exact-name status and Tripadvisor visitor report support retaining the closed archive. The visitor’s demolition account is attributed evidence, not an independently inspected site condition. The legacy operator page preserves historical hours only; it does not establish a live venue, relocation, successor, current menu or booking option.

On 7 September 2026, the legacy operator URL returned no readable page through the research tool. This access failure does not establish a successor, relocation or current site condition. No source date above has been advanced on that basis. Do not call the archived numbers or travel to the former address expecting restaurant service. If another business uses a similar name, verify its address and operator independently before treating it as the same restaurant.

Lungsawai Seafood

Lungsawai Seafood (ลุงสวาย, 'Uncle Sawai') is a big, long-running local seafood restaurant on the water at the far southern end of the Jomtien Beach Road strip, in Na Jomtien. It has been going for around three decades, and it's the sort of place Thai families and in-the-know expats drive out to rather than a tourist-trail stop: a large, breezy, semi open-air operation right beside the Gulf, with live tanks near the entrance where you pick your fish, prawns, crab, squid or shellfish and choose how you want them cooked. The cooking is classic Thai seafood done well and at fair prices — grilled prawns, whole steamed or fried fish with lime or garlic, tom yum goong, curried crab, spicy seafood salads and plenty of som tam — with the sea breeze and the smell of the charcoal grill doing as much for the atmosphere as anything on the plate. It's spacious with lots of free parking, service is quick and unfussy, and prices are reasonable for the quality: the big-ticket seafood is priced by weight, but a shared spread here generally works out well below hotel-restaurant rates. English isn't guaranteed among the staff, but there are picture-friendly displays and pointing works fine. Being at the southern end of Na Jomtien, it's a drive from central Pattaya — a Grab or your own transport is the easy way — but for fresh, honest, waterside seafood among locals, that trip is exactly the point.
