That mix matters: a front table gives the strongest beach connection, while deeper or upper seats offer more privacy and protection from wind or rain.

Google reviewers rate the restaurant 4.2/5 across 1,231 reviews (July 2026). Tripadvisor shows 4.1/5 from 604 reviews and a claimed profile, reinforcing a long operating record rather than a newly fashionable pin. Praise clusters around the location, comfortable seating, broad menu, friendly staff and music. Complaints focus on inconsistent dishes, slow attention when the room fills and payment friction.

A menu built to settle group arguments

Breakfast is one of the clearest reasons to arrive early. Eggs Benedict appears repeatedly in current summaries, alongside fruit, toast, coffee and full breakfast plates. The sea-facing room feels calmer before the day heats up, parking is easier and service is less likely to be stretched by an event crowd. Anyone sensitive to traffic or music noise will also prefer this period.

Lunch and dinner expand into burgers, club sandwiches, hot dogs, soups, salads, pasta, grills, seafood and Thai standards. Prawn bisque, salmon with black spaghetti, a Parisian Benedict, burgers and curries are recurring recommendations. Thai choices include krapow, yum talay and familiar rice dishes, so a mixed table does not have to agree on Western or local food before sitting down.

The broad menu is a strength and a warning. It makes the restaurant family-friendly and useful for groups, but recent reviews do not describe every section as equally consistent. Large portions and well-made drinks draw praise; other diners criticise the quality of breakfast meats or say a dish did not match the standard of the setting. Order from the established breakfast, Thai and straightforward grill categories before experimenting with a complicated special.

Those figures explain the original menu structure and nothing more. Google users now report ฿200–1,000 per person, and a more recent diner put a typical meal around ฿300–400. The live menu at the table is the only dependable current tariff.

Music nights change the service equation

Restaurant Guru currently describes live music on most Friday and Saturday nights and at Sunday brunch. Tripadvisor also lists live music as a facility, and historic accounts mention jazz, salsa and special buffets. The official Facebook page is the correct place to confirm the act, start time and any special menu. Do not travel for a Wednesday buffet or salsa lesson found in an undated summary without checking that it still runs.

Reserve if the performance is the point. Music nights bring a more sociable expat-and-visitor crowd, but the same arrival wave can slow the kitchen. A management response to an older Valentine’s complaint acknowledges service breakdowns when many guests arrived together. Ordering before the set or choosing a straightforward plate reduces the risk of spending the first half of the music waiting for dinner.

The front area suits sunset and atmosphere; upstairs or a table away from the speakers is better for conversation. Ask which table matches the evening rather than requesting only “best view.” A family may enjoy early live music and leave before the room becomes drink-led, while a couple who wants to dance should choose the opposite strategy.

The full bar covers cocktails, wine, beer, smoothies, juices and coffee. A recent review praises large beer bottles and well-made drinks. Another December 2025 account says an 800-baht debit-card bill could only be paid by Thai QR or credit card with a 3% surcharge, and criticises ฿50 for 125 ml of water. One complaint does not establish a permanent fee, but it is enough reason to ask about card acceptance and surcharges before ordering.

Where it fits along the Jomtien shore

Surf Kitchen is the easier casual choice for a broad menu on Jomtien Beach Road, usually with less event planning. Akvavit suits diners specifically after Scandinavian and European comfort food. The Glass House is the destination comparison for a more polished Na Jomtien sunset and a longer taxi ride. Sandbar occupies the middle: more programming and comfort than a basic beach café, less ceremony than a destination beach club.

Parking is available near the restaurant, and Dongtan is accessible by taxi, motorbike or a walk from northern Jomtien. The nearest practical direction is the turn at the Dongtan police box from the Thappraya end. Wheelchair users should request an accessible ground-floor table; Tripadvisor marks the venue accessible, but outdoor furniture and the beachfront approach can change.

The best version of an all-day local

Choose this restaurant when a group values range, sea air and the option of music more than culinary specialisation. Breakfast and an early sunset meal are the lowest-risk experiences; a booked performance night is more memorable but demands patience. The current rating supports a dependable long-running venue, not flawless food across a very large menu. Check the event, confirm the payment method, order before the crowd and let the Dongtan setting do the work it does best.
