Happy Bou Jomtien

Happy Bou Jomtien, also listed as Happy Bou Jomtien Guesthouse, is the current identity of the property formerly called McCoy Beach Hotel. The verified record describes guesthouse accommodation with a pool, bar or lounge, beach access, free Wi-Fi and a sauna.

Avalon Beach Resort

Avalon Beach Resort is a low-key, four-star beachfront resort at the Dongtan Beach end of Jomtien, where the sand is quieter and greener than central Pattaya. Its selling point is genuine beachfront position paired with space: rooms are unusually large for the price, most come with a proper private balcony, and the grounds run down through tropical planting to an outdoor pool near the sea. There are around 94 rooms, a fitness room, spa treatments and a terrace restaurant (Beach Kitchen) overlooking the pool and water, so it works as a relaxed base for people who want the beach and a swim rather than a party. Couples in particular rate it highly — a beachfront balcony, a peaceful setting and Dongtan's calmer stretch of sand make it a good value romantic pick. It's about 10 minutes by car from central Pattaya, close enough for a night out but far enough to sleep. Rates typically start around 1,500 baht and climb with season and view, keeping it in affordable-to-mid territory for a beachfront four-star. The honest caveats: some rooms and décor feel dated, a few guests flag occasional maintenance niggles, and breakfast gets mixed reviews. Go in wanting space, quiet and a beach-and-pool holiday — not slick, brand-new interiors — and it delivers well for the money.

The Agate Pattaya Boutique Resort

The Agate Pattaya Boutique Resort is a contemporary Thai-styled resort at the northern, Pratumnak-facing end of Jomtien, about 300 metres back from the beach on Jomtien Second Road. It's a genuine step up from the area's small guesthouses: around 71 rooms and suites across five room types, two outdoor swimming pools with a poolside bar, an on-site spa (the Agate Spa, with several treatment rooms), and The Cliff Restaurant serving international and Thai food overlooking the water. A free shuttle runs down to Jomtien Beach, and bicycles are available for pottering around the neighbourhood. Rooms are done in a calm, modern Thai style — warm woods, muted tones, comfortable beds — and the resort pitches itself at couples and families who want a quiet, design-led base within easy reach of both Jomtien and central Pattaya (Walking Street is about a 10-minute drive). It reviews well for cleanliness, the pools and helpful staff. The honest caveats: it's set back from the seafront rather than on it, so the sea 'views' are limited and you'll use the shuttle or a short walk to reach the sand, and the immediate area — sometimes billed as 'Super Town' — is a developing mix of resorts, bars and building sites rather than a polished beach promenade. Rates are good value for the level, frequently from around 1,400–2,800 baht depending on season and room.
