Baan Souy Resort is a tranquil boutique apartment-resort tucked into a lush tropical garden on the Pratumnak / Thappraya Road side of Pattaya, between the Pratumnak Hill headland and Jomtien and only a short drive from Walking Street. It's really a hybrid — part low-key resort, part serviced-apartment block — which makes it popular for both holidays and longer stays. Accommodation ranges from compact poolside studios (around 30 square metres) up to superior studios, one-bedroom and large two-bedroom apartments (up to 100 square metres) plus a penthouse, most done in a comfortable Thai-contemporary style with kitchenette facilities geared to self-catering. The heart of the place is its garden and pool: a big saltwater swimming pool ringed by sunbeds and a jacuzzi, with a couple of rooftop garden terraces for quiet lounging — the feature guests praise most. Reviews are strongly positive on the pool, the greenery, the value and the friendly staff, with the caveats you'd expect of an older property: some furnishings and sunbeds are starting to show their age, and a few guests mention smoking around the pool.
