LK The Empress is one of the smarter hotels in the sprawling LK Group's central Pattaya portfolio — a four-star on the corner of Beach Road and Soi 12, with a rooftop swimming pool and a location that puts almost everything within a short walk. Despite the way it's sometimes described, this is a Beach Road property rather than a Soi Buakhao one: the hotel's own figures put Pattaya Beach about 14 metres away, Soi Buakhao around 440 metres, Walking Street roughly 720 metres and the Soi 6 bar strip a little over a kilometre — in other words, you're in the middle of the central action, close to the beach, the malls and the nightlife. Rooms run from comfortable standards up to jacuzzi, sea-view and beachfront suites, and the rooftop pool is the signature draw, though its sea views are partly screened and it sits in shade for parts of the day. The honest caveats are typical of a busy, keenly priced central hotel: some rooms and corridors feel a little tired or mid-renovation, the shower temperature can swing between scalding and cold, breakfast items sometimes run out at peak, and a few guests report night noise and small extra charges (such as being billed for water) at checkout. Guest scores sit in the solid mid-range. Rates typically open around 2,000–3,000 THB depending on season and room type, which for a rooftop-pool four-star this close to the beach and Walking Street is competitive. It suits travellers who want to be central and walkable, with a pool on the roof, without paying beachfront-luxury prices.
