The Agate Pattaya Boutique Resort
The Agate Pattaya Boutique Resort is a contemporary Thai-styled resort at the northern, Pratumnak-facing end of Jomtien, about 300 metres back from the beach on Jomtien Second Road. It's a genuine step up from the area's small guesthouses: around 71 rooms and suites across five room types, two outdoor swimming pools with a poolside bar, an on-site spa (the Agate Spa, with several treatment rooms), and The Cliff Restaurant serving international and Thai food overlooking the water. A free shuttle runs down to Jomtien Beach, and bicycles are available for pottering around the neighbourhood. Rooms are done in a calm, modern Thai style — warm woods, muted tones, comfortable beds — and the resort pitches itself at couples and families who want a quiet, design-led base within easy reach of both Jomtien and central Pattaya (Walking Street is about a 10-minute drive). It reviews well for cleanliness, the pools and helpful staff. The honest caveats: it's set back from the seafront rather than on it, so the sea 'views' are limited and you'll use the shuttle or a short walk to reach the sand, and the immediate area — sometimes billed as 'Super Town' — is a developing mix of resorts, bars and building sites rather than a polished beach promenade. Rates are good value for the level, frequently from around 1,400–2,800 baht depending on season and room.
