Galaxy Cabaret

Galaxy Cabaret is one of the longer-running a-go-go bars on Walking Street, the neon nightlife strip in South Pattaya, sitting in the thick of it near the Pier nightclub. Despite the 'cabaret' name it isn't a transvestite revue like Tiffany's or Alcazar — it's an adults-only go-go bar, and its calling card is that many of its dancers are from Eastern Europe (Russia, Ukraine and Moldova) rather than the Thai dancers of most Walking Street venues, performing stage and pole shows through the night. That points of difference has made it a well-known, searched-by-name stop on the strip for years, often with a dancer visible through a window to pull passers-by in. It's an experience venue rather than a value one: drink prices sit at the higher end for Pattaya (imported beers around 200-plus baht), tips for dancers are expected, and there can be a charge if you bring a female guest — so it pays to go in knowing the model. There's generally no door charge simply to walk in and watch. Like everywhere on Walking Street, it's firmly night-time, over-20s territory that gets going late; check your bill against the menu, keep track of your tab, and treat any quoted prices as approximate, as they shift with season and management.
