Flying Dolphins: a former Jomtien bar
Flying Dolphins was a bar on Thappraya Road in front of Jomtien Complex. The venue is now a historical search result, not a current recommendation: Pattaya Gogos reports that it had closed by March 2023 and that the site was set to become The Lone Star Saloon. Anyone using an old pin should look at the current frontage rather than expect the former bar to be trading.
What the older record shows
The bar was part of the Jomtien 8-ball scene. Pattaya Mail’s June 2011 standings list Flying Dolphins with five wins from five matches, and report a 11-4 result against Cosy Bar. A 2011 ASEAN NOW post paints a more social picture: a hands-on couple running the place, a pool table, and a DJ with a strong Beatles and 1960s preference. Those are useful clues to the venue’s former character, but not a menu or timetable to rely on today.
Location and name
The route previously used the misspelling “Flying Dolphines”. Contemporary local sources spell the name Flying Dolphins and place it by Jomtien Complex on Thappraya Road. This matters because Pattaya has many similar venue names and old nightlife pages tend to remain searchable long after a bar changes hands or closes.
Practical recommendation
Skip Flying Dolphins when choosing a current Jomtien bar: its reported closure is the most recent evidence reviewed. Keep this page for the old name and location, particularly if an older forum post or map pin sends you there. For a present-night plan, choose a bar with a current, independently maintained listing and confirm its sign and opening time before travelling.
