The Punch and Judy Pub no longer exists. The long-running British pub closed around 2019–2020, and its Soi Teedin premises were refurbished and reopened as Pulcinella, an Italian risto-pub that still trades there today. This page is kept as a historical record for people searching the old name.

The same site now serves Italian food as Pulcinella. A dated Japanese local report records Pulcinella’s grand opening as 15 March 2020 and documents indoor tables, counter seating and a smoking terrace at the converted premises. For a current British pub in this part of town, use verified current listings instead of old Punch and Judy recommendations.

Pulcinella’s own website describes its present concept as an authentic Italian dining experience and provides a contact form for direct enquiries. It does not preserve the Punch and Judy menu or trading identity.

Documented changeover

The local opening report gives Pulcinella’s launch date as 15 March 2020 and explicitly describes the premises as the former Punch and Judy. A contemporaneous Tripadvisor review and a dedicated local forum thread make the same old-name connection. That agreement across three dated sources identifies the site conversion, while Pulcinella’s own website confirms that the current concept is Italian. It does not support treating old Punch and Judy reviews, menu descriptions or ratings as current.

The Pattaya Life report also records a change of owner and notes that the old Punch and Judy name was still visible on the sign when Pulcinella opened. During the early 2020 COVID restrictions it reported takeaway and delivery rather than normal dine-in service. Those dated details help explain why both names can appear in photographs from the handover period.

O'Garas Bar

O'Garas (styled O'Garas Irish Bar & Restaurant) is a long-running Irish pub and grill on Pratumnak Hill, tucked into the ground floor of the Tara Court Hotel on Soi 5 Pratumnak, opposite reception. It has been feeding Pratumnak's big expat community for years and is best known for its full English breakfast — regularly rated one of the best in Pattaya — served from early morning alongside a broad menu of pub classics: roasts, steak sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, grills and a handful of Thai dishes. The room is air-conditioned, comfortable and unpretentious, with spacious seating that suits a long lazy breakfast, a lunchtime pint or a relaxed dinner rather than a raucous night out. Prices are mid-range for a Western pub in Pattaya — noticeably above a Thai street stall but fair for the portion sizes — and the kitchen runs all day, which makes it a reliable fallback when you want a proper Western meal at an odd hour. It sits in the quiet, hilly Pratumnak pocket between South Pattaya and Jomtien, a short baht-bus or Grab ride from either. Hours and specials change, so confirm before a special trip.
