The Pig and Whistle Pub

The Pig and Whistle was one of Central Pattaya’s best-known British pubs — the first building on Beach Road Soi 7, serving English breakfasts, pub grub and sport on TV, with guesthouse rooms upstairs.

It no longer exists under that name. After a dispute with the (originally same-owner) Pig and Whistle in the Jomtien Complex, the Soi 7 pub briefly traded as the “Big and Whistle”, later became Seiso Inn, and the premises now operate as Puttaya Glow — a 24-hour sports bar with a 9-hole glow mini-golf course, golf simulator and live music. The Jomtien Complex Pig and Whistle, once famous for its fish and chips, closed around March 2020.

How the names changed

The historical record distinguishes two similarly named branches. The Soi 7 business went through the Big and Whistle and Seiso Inn names before the current Puttaya Glow identity, while Pattaya Mail separately reported the Jomtien Complex branch among businesses lost in 2020. The Puttaya Glow directory entry explicitly calls the Soi 7 premises the former Seiso Inn and Pig & Whistle, connecting that present venue to the central site without conflating it with Jomtien.

What continued and what did not

The Puttaya Glow listing carries forward the 34 Soi 7 location and identifies the building’s Seiso Inn and Pig & Whistle lineage. Its glow-golf, simulator and sports-bar description belongs to the later operation. The old pub’s British menu, guesthouse identity and ratings do not transfer with the address. This distinction preserves the site history without presenting Puttaya Glow as a continuation of the Pig and Whistle brand.
