A bar name with two historical threads

Wunderbar is not a reliable current-nightlife recommendation; it is a useful historical record. A Pattaya Forum post from April 2009 placed a Wunderbar on Second Road in the first bar complex before Pattaya Memorial Hospital when travelling towards Naklua. The account described a straightforward beer bar and reported games such as dominoes, but those details are now historical.

An older ASEAN NOW discussion complicates the picture. In September 2005, a contributor said that an earlier Wunderbar had already been replaced by We Are The World Bar, then near Beach Road between Soi 7 and Soi 8. The same post described the old venue as a long-running favourite for workers travelling from Sri Racha, Laem Chabang and Map Ta Phut.

Treat the locations as different periods

The two sources may refer to separate incarnations of the name, or to a move and replacement that the limited record does not fully explain. The 2009 Second Road reference aligns with the imported coordinates near Memorial Hospital; the 2005 Beach Road reference is earlier and explicitly calls that Wunderbar old. Neither establishes that the name still trades at either location.

Recommendation

Use Wunderbar as a research pointer when tracing old Pattaya forum posts, especially those mentioning the Memorial Hospital side of Second Road. Skip it for a planned drink today. A visible sign at the recorded location is the minimum confirmation needed before treating it as an operating venue.
