Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club

Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club is one of Pattaya's best-known courses and one of the easiest championship layouts to reach from the city — about 20 minutes inland at Huay Yai, off Sukhaphiban 2 Road. It opened in 1993 to a Dennis Griffiths design and now plays as 27 holes across three contrasting nines — Ocean, Lake and Mountain — that combine into three different 18-hole rounds. The rolling, wooded terrain gives genuine elevation change, and several holes on the higher ground open up long views over the Gulf of Thailand and the surrounding hills; a major reshaping from 2014, led by Thai architect Pirapon Namatra, tightened the bunkering and greens. This is a proper resort course rather than a flat range-style layout: wide enough off the tee for holidaymakers, but with water, doglegs and slopes that keep better players honest. Green fees sit mid-range for the region — roughly 3,000 baht on a weekday and 3,500 at weekends for 18 holes, with 27-hole rates, caddie and cart charges on top — and there is on-site accommodation (a townhouse and a private villa) for stay-and-play golfers. Book tee times ahead in the November–March high season, when Pattaya's courses fill with tour groups.
