About

Sisters Foundation Pattaya was founded in 2004 as a transgender-led community organisation and operates from Soi Arunothai in Central Pattaya. GATE documents both a drop-in centre and an outreach team working across the city, with free confidential HIV, syphilis and STI testing, hormone and transition-related counselling, HIV-treatment referrals, condoms, lubricant and PrEP information. These are published service descriptions rather than a substitute for medical advice or confirmation of same-day availability.

GATE’s 2021 community profile also says the programme was run by transgender people for transgender people, with most staff and volunteers drawn from the community. It describes social sessions that connect friendship and health awareness for people who may be reluctant to use a conventional clinic.

The service record is broader than a clinic pin

Speak OUT Thailand lists health and counselling support at the 417/64-65 Moo 9, Soi Arunothai centre. GATE’s organisation profile records Sisters Foundation’s founding in 2004 and work with transgender communities in the Pattaya region. Those sources establish both a physical service point and a longer organisational history; neither guarantees walk-in availability on a particular afternoon.

Speak OUT gives a more precise founding record: June 2004, established by Population Services International Thailand. Its current service list also includes mental-health counselling and liver-health checks alongside HIV, syphilis, hormone and referral services. Call first, because a published service category does not confirm a particular test is available without an appointment that day.

The honest take

Practical context to consider before you choose.

  • Published weekday hours conflict between 13:00–17:00 and an older 10:00–19:00 listing.
  • Call before visiting because a listed service does not guarantee same-day availability.
