Why it’s worth a look

Central Marina is the unglamorous, useful member of Pattaya’s Central-owned mall family. Where Central Festival goes for beachfront gloss and international brands, Central Marina — now signed as Central Marina Outlet — does something more practical: cheap sportswear, a cinema, a big supermarket and a cool place to sit out the afternoon heat. It’s on Pattaya Second Road in the central-to-north part of town, it’s been here for years, and it wears its age lightly by leaning into the outlet-and-everyday-shopping role rather than pretending to be a luxury destination.

For a visitor, the honest pitch is simple: you don’t come here for a wow moment, you come for a specific errand — a discounted pair of running shoes, a film in air-conditioned comfort, a grocery run — and it does those things well and cheaply.

What’s inside

The anchor attraction is the outlet fashion and sportswear. Central Marina is known for a large Nike outlet (frequently described as one of the biggest in the region) sitting alongside Adidas, Puma and Supersports factory-outlet sections, where last-season stock goes at proper discounts. If you’re after trainers, gym kit or casual wear at below-mall prices, this is the best single stop in the city.

Around the outlets is a full everyday mall: a Big C hypermarket for groceries, toiletries and cheap household bits; an SF Cinema multiplex showing the latest Hollywood, Thai and regional releases; a food court and chain restaurants for a quick, cheap meal; plus banks, mobile-phone shops and services. An earlier renovation gave part of the centre a loose seaside / fishermen’s-village theme, and there’s a small outdoor market area that comes to life in the cooler evening hours.

Plan your visit

Entry to the mall is free — you only pay for what you buy or watch. It’s genuinely easy to reach: hop a baht bus along Second Road, or take a short Grab/Bolt from the beach; drivers get free on-site parking. Give it one to two hours unless you’re settling in for a film. A smart, low-effort itinerary on a hot or rainy afternoon is a cheap movie, a wander through the sports outlets, a food-court lunch and a Big C shop on the way out. Find it on Google Maps.

Opening hours run roughly 11:00–22:00 daily, with Big C and some stores opening a little earlier and cinema sessions finishing later. As always in Thailand, hours can shift on public holidays and vary shop by shop, so check ahead if you’re building your visit around a particular film time or store.

Honest verdict

Set your expectations correctly and Central Marina is a useful, likeable stop; expect a glitzy megamall and you’ll be underwhelmed. It’s older, open-plan and value-led, and it’s aimed squarely at people who want discount sportswear, a cinema and a supermarket rather than designer boutiques. For the flashier experience — more brands, more restaurants, sea views — Central Festival or Terminal 21 Pattaya win. But for bargain trainers, a cheap film and a grocery run under one roof, Central Marina earns its place, and the price of admission is nothing.
