Koh Tao is the furthest of the three Gulf islands.
The routes
Ferries run from Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, and from the mainland piers at Chumphon and Surat Thani (often combined with a flight or night train/bus). Fly to Samui or Surat Thani first.
From Pattaya
Route via Bangkok. It is the longest haul of the Gulf islands — an overnight-or-longer trip.
Getting around
The island is small; songthaews, taxis and scooters cover it.
