Aroy-Dee Restaurant
Aroy-Dee (Thai for 'delicious') is a long-running, family-run open-front restaurant on Soi New Plaza, the short lane running off Pattaya's busy Second Road opposite Soi 8. It has traded here since around 2011 and built a following as a cheap, reliable all-day kitchen that straddles two menus: proper Thai standards on one side — tom yum goong, green and red curries, papaya salad, stir-fries and one-plate rice and noodle dishes — and a Western comfort list on the other, running from big breakfasts and sandwiches to burgers, steaks and thin-crust pizzas. That breadth is the whole point: it is the place a mixed group of Thai partners, curious tourists and long-stay expats can all order what they want at prices that stay well under the beach-road tourist traps. Most Thai dishes land in the low-to-mid hundreds of baht, breakfasts and pizzas a little more. The setting is honest rather than pretty — an open-sided shophouse space right on a lively, sometimes noisy corner near the bar sois, with fans rather than full air-conditioning, so it suits people who like watching the street go by more than those chasing a cool, quiet dinner. Service is friendly and quick, English is spoken, and it stays open late, which makes it a handy pre- or post-night-out refuel in the heart of central Pattaya.
