The overnight ticket

Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao lie off the southern Gulf coast, a night’s journey from Pattaya. Boonsiri sells one ticket for the whole journey: its East bus from Pattaya, a change to its South VIP bus, then its Sealine ferry to the island. On 23 October 2026 its booking page showed these departures for 15 November 2026, and the same for 15 December 2026 and 15 January 2027:

From the office, a child aged 5 to 11 pays half the adult fare (800 baht to Koh Tao, 850 to Thongsala, 900 to Bangrak) and an infant under 2 pays 300 baht. These are the fares the booking page showed, not a seat held for you: book for your own date. Terminal 21 Pattaya, a Boonsiri stop for the eastern islands, had no service to these three islands on those dates.

The night on the road

You leave Pattaya in the evening, sleep on the bus and reach the coast for the morning ferry. Boonsiri names the change from the East bus to the South VIP bus and the ferry, but publishes neither where nor when you change, nor which sailing the ticket uses. Keep it as one ticket and do not book a separate connection around it.

Bring what you need for the night in a small bag that stays with you: water, a warm layer for the air conditioning, a charged phone and your ticket. Boonsiri’s conditions limit what it pays for lost or damaged bags to 2,000 baht a passenger and exclude cash, jewellery, electronic devices and passports.

Where the times differ

Boonsiri’s own timetable image, marked “Effective from 1st October 2026 – 31th May 2027”, gives Koh Tao at 08:30, while its booking page gives 08:45; the other arrivals agree. The heading above the images still names January to May 2026. Plan on the later time, and take the time on your ticket as the one that counts.

Booking, changes and the weather

  • Check-in: be at the pick-up point at least 30 minutes before departure. A missed departure is a no-show: no refund and no change of date.
  • Cancelling: for a booking made directly with Boonsiri, 80% of the fare is refunded if you cancel at least seven days before travel, and nothing after that.
  • Changing the date: the first change costs 50 baht if you ask at least three days ahead; later changes cost 20% of the fare.
  • Holidays: Boonsiri may refuse cancellations and changes for public holidays and peak periods.
  • Weather: Boonsiri can change times, routes and vessels for weather and sea conditions, and does not pay for a hotel or flight you miss as a result.

Closer islands make a shorter trip: see Pattaya to Koh Kood and Koh Mak and Pattaya to Koh Chang.
