If you want a known, reliable brand right on the beachfront, Holiday Inn Pattaya is the safe pick in the middle of town. It’s a large, modern tower on Beach Road toward the northern end of the bay, built around families and the kind of consistency that makes travelling with kids less of a gamble. You know roughly what you’re getting — and that’s the point.

Where it is

The hotel stands on Pattaya Sai 1 (Beach Road) at the quieter north end of the beachfront strip, a short walk from Central Festival mall and the promenade. The sea is directly across the road, so sea-view rooms genuinely look out over the bay. This is Central Pattaya at its most convenient: malls, restaurants and Grab pickups all within a couple of minutes, with the noisier South Pattaya nightlife a cheap ride away rather than under your window.

That location cuts both ways. Beach Road is a busy, lively frontage with traffic, street vendors and a constant hum. The beach opposite is the public city beach — fine for a dip and a deckchair, but not the private, powdery sand of an out-of-town resort. If beachfront tranquillity is your priority, Pullman Pattaya Hotel G at Wong Amat or the Na Jomtien resorts will suit you better.

Rooms and the family angle

Holiday Inn Pattaya runs to 531 rooms and suites across its towers, which is a big part of its appeal: even in peak weeks you can usually find a room here when smaller hotels are full. Standard rooms are bright, contemporary and well-kept, many with balconies and bay views. The newer one- and two-bedroom suites are genuinely spacious — the two-bedroom layouts run over 100 square metres.

The standout for families is the Kids Suites concept: rooms with a dedicated children’s zone, bunk beds and playful decor that turn a hotel room into something kids actually enjoy. Combined with the daily Kids Club and a separate shallow family pool, it’s one of the few central hotels genuinely engineered around children rather than just tolerating them.

Pools, dining and facilities

There are two outdoor infinity pools with bay views, plus the family pool, a spa and a fitness centre. Dining is handled across six restaurants and bars, covering all-day international and Thai menus, a lobby café and poolside options — enough that you never have to leave, though with Central Festival’s food court and dozens of restaurants a short walk away, you won’t want to eat in every night. Breakfast is broad and well-reviewed, though the hotel’s size means the buffet gets busy at peak times.

Who it suits — and who should look elsewhere

Book here if you want a central, dependable, family-friendly base with a real pool scene and a beach view, and you value predictability over character. It’s also a sensible choice for first-time visitors who want a recognisable brand and an easy walk to shopping and dining.

Look elsewhere if you’re after a quiet, private-beach resort (choose Wong Amat or Na Jomtien), boutique design (see Hotel Baraquda), or you’re here mainly for nightlife and want to roll out of bed onto Walking Street — in which case a South Pattaya hotel makes more sense.

Getting there

From Suvarnabhumi Airport it’s roughly a two-hour drive; the hotel arranges paid transfers, or a metered Grab is usually cheaper. Once you’re here, everything central is walkable and baht buses run constantly along Beach and Second Roads for ฿10–20 a hop. Find it on the map.
