Pattaya Park Tower

Long before the glossy new towers arrived, Pattaya Park Tower was the city’s landmark on the skyline — a 240-metre spike at the southern, Jomtien end of Pratumnak, and still the tallest seaside tower on Thailand’s east coast. It belongs to the veteran Pattaya Park Beach Resort, and it packs three attractions into one lift ride: a view, a spinning dinner, and a genuine adrenaline stunt.

The view

The centrepiece is the observation deck on the 55th floor, where the whole sweep of the coast opens up — Pattaya Bay curving away to the north, Jomtien’s long beach running south, and Koh Larn sitting out to sea. On a clear day it’s a genuinely impressive panorama, and at around ฿200 it’s one of the cheapest high-up views in town. Late afternoon gives the softest light; a hazy or overcast day flattens the whole thing, so pick your moment.

The revolving restaurants

Below the deck, floors 52 to 54 hold three slowly rotating restaurants — Panorama (international buffet), Pinnacle and Meridian — that complete a full turn over the course of a meal, so every table eventually gets every angle. The food is buffet-hotel standard rather than fine dining, but the gimmick is the point: you’re eating while the horizon drifts past the window. Combined view-plus-buffet packages are often better value than paying for the deck alone.

The Tower Jump

Then there’s the reason thrill-seekers come: the Tower Jump. From the 56th floor, riders are clipped into a safety harness and cable and sent on a controlled, high-speed descent of around 170 metres down the outside of the building. It’s part abseil, part free-fall, entirely not for the faint-hearted — and at roughly ฿300 it’s a cheap way to terrify yourself with a view. It pauses in high winds or rain, so it’s weather-dependent; if it’s a must-do, check conditions and book ahead.

Plan your visit

• Getting there: The tower is on Jomtien Beach at the Thappraya Road end of Pratumnak, an easy songthaew, Grab or taxi ride from central Pattaya or Jomtien.
• Hours: The tower is generally open daily through the day (roughly 09:00–18:00), with the restaurants serving lunch and dinner. Times shift seasonally, so confirm before travelling.
• Time needed: Allow 1–2 hours for the deck and a drink or meal; longer if you’re doing the water park at the base too.
• Good to know: This is an older attraction, and the interiors show their age next to Pattaya’s newer high-rises. Come for the value, the view and the novelty rather than a slick modern experience.

Who it’s for

Pattaya Park Tower suits families, first-timers and view-hunters who want a high panorama without a premium price — and daredevils after the Tower Jump. If you’re expecting a cutting-edge observation experience it may feel a little dated, but as a cheap, breezy hour or two above the bay, it still earns its place on the skyline. Pair it with the beaches and viewpoints of Pratumnak for an easy half-day on the south side of town.
