What the temple is
DASTA describes Wat Santi Tharawas as a temple founded in 1880, with a Dhamma studies school. Locals call it Wat Thung Lahan, and, after its revered monk, Wat Luang Phor Rang.
Luang Phor Rang was known for his kindness and for reciting incantations over coins, which people keep in the belief that they protect against harm. His building in the temple is open for visitors to pay respect and attach gold leaf to his statue.
