The year month by month
A date with a year is the latest confirmed when its source was checked, between July and October 2026. An event without one follows a pattern rather than a fixed day.

Football matches and races, November to January
Home matches of Pattaya United, at Nong Prue Stadium, and Chonburi FC, at Chonburi Daikin Stadium in Chonburi town, from the Thai League's 2026–27 fixtures, and the public races with an organiser's page, checked on 22 October 2026. Holidays that change a visitor's day
The 2027 financial-institution dates below come from The Nation’s report of the Bank of Thailand calendar, recorded on 14 October 2026. Individual dates have not been independently verified against the primary notice. A bank calendar does not establish government-office or individual business hours; check those separately.
Three things in the holiday calendar change a visitor's day in Pattaya.
- Buddhist holy days. On the five major holy days, shops, supermarkets and convenience stores do not sell alcohol; since 2025, registered hotels and some licensed venues may still serve. Many Thais visit temples on these days, so dress for a temple and watch any ceremony quietly. In 2026 they fall on 3 March (Makha Bucha), 31 May (Visakha Bucha), 29 July (Asarnha Bucha), 30 July (Khao Phansa) and on 26 October (Ok Phansa). In 2027 the Bank of Thailand's holiday list puts Makha Bucha on 21 February, Visakha Bucha on 20 May and Asarnha Bucha on 18 July.
- Songkran and New Year. These are Thailand's big travel holidays: hotels and intercity buses fill up and the roads are busy, so book early.
- Long weekends. When a holiday falls next to a weekend, visitors arrive from Bangkok: fuller hotels, higher rates and slow traffic on Sukhumvit Road on the first and last days.
Royal birthdays and memorial days pass quietly for most visitors, with portraits, flags and occasional ceremonies: treat them with respect, as Thai etiquette explains. The Bank of Thailand publishes financial-institution holidays.
The fireworks festival in late November
The Pattaya International Fireworks Festival is scheduled for Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November 2026 along Pattaya Beach. Watching from the sand is free, but it brings the largest crowds and the slowest way out. The fireworks festival guide has what is announced, last year's schedule and road plan, and where to watch.
How to plan around a big event
Choose the month first, then find the official announcement: Pattaya City or the Tourism Authority of Thailand for public events, the organiser for ticketed festivals. A graphic on social media with no publisher is not a source.
- Note the date, the place, the road closures, any ticket rule and the last transport home.
- Book a cancellable room on the right side of the likely closures, and keep arrival and departure days light.
- Expect pick-up points to move away from the busiest roads, and allow extra time for every journey.
- Carry your hotel's address in Thai, agree a meeting point and keep your phone charged.

When are the Pattaya fireworks in 2026?
The Pattaya International Fireworks Festival is on 27–28 November 2026, along Pattaya Beach, as Pattaya Mail reported on 1 July 2026 and the Thai Government listed on 31 August 2026. Our fireworks festival guide has last year's times and road plan.
What is Wan Lai?
Wan Lai is the eastern region's later Songkran tradition. After the national holiday, Naklua and then central Pattaya hold their own days of water play, processions, blessings for elders and cultural performances, so Pattaya's celebrations do not end on 15 April.
Are Pattaya's festivals free?
The public ones are generally free to watch: Wan Lai, the Music Festival, the jazz festival on the beach, the fireworks from the beach and, last year, the New Year concerts. Wonderfruit, Tomorrowland and the other ticketed festivals need tickets from their organisers. A hotel room, dinner or package with a view is a separate booking with its own price and conditions.
Are shops and attractions open on public holidays?
Check the opening hours of the business or service you need. A financial-institution holiday calendar describes bank dates; it does not establish every government-office, hotel, shop or attraction schedule. Event access and alcohol-sale restrictions also need their own dated sources.
