What the temple is
DASTA describes Wat Khao Mai Kaew as the hub of the Khao Mai Kaew community and the subdistrict's temple, about 80 years old.
Locals and Buddhist followers come to make merit and support the temple. Inside are an image of Phra Sriwalee and an old Phra Kaew tower, which people regularly pay respect to, and an ordination hall built by the community's faith.
Visiting
Khao Mai Kaew is inland in Bang Lamung district, east of the city. Go by car and arrange the ride back.
Dress and behave as at any working temple: covered shoulders and knees, shoes off before you enter a hall, and quiet during prayers. See Thai etiquette.
